the story of how and why we got our name.
I've been saying "it's all POTA" for years, but I wasn't its inventor. A particularly bad beach vacation filled with storms, ants, and all sorts of other misfortune left me feeling down, but my best friend Makenna was always in high spirits in a way I could never understand. "It's all POTA," she would say. "It's all part of the adventure."

She was right. Since then I've subscribed to the philosophy that trips can very rarely be ruined, only transformed. The stories I tell most often from my travels certainly aren't the times when everything went as planned.

Now I'm the one in high spirits when things go wrong or unexpectedly right. I fall into whatever the world has in store for me, and my POTA moments - from the bad to the oh so good - are often my favorite moments of all.

We're a travel agency for real adventure.
Travel isn’t about the big moments. The big moments are wonderful, of course - the Colosseum is imposing, the Taj Mahal is majestic, and they are absolutely worth seeing. But the thing about the big moments - everyone who’s there gets to experience them. They’re collective, and that’s incredible, but when you’re on an adventure it’s the little things that make your trip, yours. The awe that strikes you when you look at the ruins of Ancient Rome may eventually leave you, but that spaghetti stain on your white shirt never will. However you travel, whatever you have the privilege to experience, the big things and especially the little things - it’s all PART OF THE ADVENTURE. And we can’t wait to get you there.
